A guided walk in Cambridge covering the first segment of Newmarket Road, Abbey and Beche Road and Riverside, exploring the parts of the city where tourists don’t ever go.
We shall discover a couple of pre-University buildings in Cambridge, tucked away in little lanes some distance from the city centre, explore some recent public art that lends itself to philosophical interpretations, and talk about language and symbolism, theatre and waterfowl, among all other things. We shall examine a few unique samples of “town furniture”, and simply enjoy a stroll along the river bank and a hidden gem of a small orchard.
